Prof. Dr. Veronika Grimm

Prof. Veronika Grimm has held the Chair for Economics (in particular, economic theory) at the University of Erlangen-Nuremburg (Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, FAU) since 2008. She is Chairwoman of the Scientific Advisory Committee of Energie Campus Nürnberg (EnCN), Member of the Executive Board at Center Hydrogen.Bavaria (H2.B) and Director of the Laboratory for Experimental Research Nuremberg (LERN).

Previously, she was employed at the Humboldt University of Berlin, Universidad de Alicante in Spain and the University of Cologne, and also engaged in a long research stay at the Univesite Libre de Bruxelles and the Universite Catholique de Louvain in Belgium.

Grimm has been a Member of the German Council of Economic Experts (Sachverständigenrat zur Begutachtung der gesamtwirtschaftlichen Entwicklung) since 2020. In addition, she is active in multiple bodies and advisory boards, of which include the German National Hydrogen Council, the German Expert Commission for the Monitoring Process ‘Energy of the Future’ at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Energie, BMWi), the Zukunftskreis (committee on future affairs) at the Federal Ministry for Education and Research (Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung, BMBF), the Advisory Council for Consumer Affairs at the Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection (Bundesministerium der Justiz und für Verbraucherschutz, BMJV) as well as the Engineering Steering Panel of the European Academies’ Science Advisory Council (EASAC).

Her research concentrates on the fields of energy markets and energy market modelling, behavioural economics, social networks as well as auctions and market design. She has produced numerous publications in leading academic journals, including Economic Journal, European Journal of Operational Research, Journal of the European Economic Association and the Journal of Economic Theory.
