Prof. Dr. Veronika Grimm

Veronika Grimm took up the professorship for Energy Systems and Market Design at the Technical University of Nuremberg (UTN) in March 2024. From 2008 to 2024, she held the Chair of Economics, specializing in Economic Theory, at the Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. Previously, she worked at Humboldt University of Berlin, the University of Alicante, and the University of Cologne, and spent extended research periods at the Université Libre de Bruxelles and the Université Catholique de Louvain.

Since 2020, Veronika Grimm has been a member of the German Council of Economic Experts. She is also active in numerous committees and advisory boards, including the German Federal Government's National Hydrogen Council, the expert commission for the "Energy of the Future" monitoring process at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), the Future Circle of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), the German Council of Experts on Consumer Affairs (BMJV), and the Energy Steering Panel of the European Academies' Science Advisory Council (EASAC). She is also a member of the board of directors of the Hydrogen Center Bavaria (H2.B).

Her research focuses on energy markets and energy market modeling, behavioral economics, social networks, auctions, and market design. She has published extensively in leading academic journals, including the Economic Journal, the European Journal of Operational Research, the Journal of the European Economic Association, and the Journal of Economic Theory.
