Dr. Stefan Spindler

Dr. Stefan Spindler studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Munich where, in 1992, he also obtained his doctorate in internal combustion engine technology alongside his work as a research and development engineer at MTU Motoren- und Turbinen-Union Friedrichshafen. From 1992 to 1999, he was responsible for application engineering and After Sales at MTU.

From 2000 to 2010, Dr. Spindler held positions as product area manager at Liebherr Machines in Bulle, Switzerland, and as a member of the executive board at MAN Diesel & Turbo in Augsburg. The development of energy-efficient and low-emission drive systems for industrial applications was a consistent focus of his work.

In mid-2010, Dr. Stefan Spindler was appointed as a member of the executive board of Bosch Rexroth AG. He first led the Renewable Energies business unit with a focus on wind power applications and, from 2012 the Mobile Applications business unit, which included vehicle drive and control products. Dr. Spindler was additionally responsible for the cross-divisional development coordination function. From 2015 to 2024, Dr. Stefan Spindler served as CEO Industrial at Schaeffler AG. Dr. Stefan Spindler was responsible for products that make a significant contribution to a sustainable energy transition. This includes, notably, components for the wind power industry, as well as the development of innovative components and systems for electric mobility and hydrogen production.
